  • Try to avoid plastic egg boxes as these do not break down.
  • Try offering egg boxes to local schools and playgroups who may be able to use them in art projects.
  • Cardboard egg boxes can be torn up and added to your compost heap (see composting), or used as biodegradable seed pots.
  • If you buy eggs from a local supplier such as a butcher ask if they reuse the boxes and if so return them.
