Junk mail
- Try cutting up and using the blank side of paper for notes.
- Use the envelopes for notes, lists etc.
- Buy envelope reuse labels and reuse the original envelope or the enclosed reply envelope.

- To recycle, put paper in a blue recycling bin, but not envelopes.
- If really annoyed, try returning junk mail to sender.
Juice cartons
These are made from layers of cardboard, foil and plastic, but it is still possible to recycle them at various centres around the country, although you may have to package and post them yourself. www.reuze.co.uk gives information on where to recycle cartons, along with other goods. Junk (general)
- Buy less stuff and only buy things that you need and that will last for some time.
- Try finding another use for goods or take to a charity shop, or advertise your unwanted items on Glasgow Freecycle or Glasgow Freeshare
